We’ve all heard the cliché “a picture is worth a thousand words” and in today's social media dominated world, this is a reality. The staggering fact is, that in the time it takes you to read this sentence, 5 hours of video have been uploaded to the Internet in addition to 100,00 still images. The world has never been so well-documented. But therein lies the problem: The internet eats digital content as fast as you make it, so having a useful and relevant digital library is vital for any business if they’re serious about their marketing campaigns.
Just recently, Sea Blue Media was asked to make a film for a company, which involved using images and videos that they taken over the last 5 years. Trying to locate these digital assets took one employee over a week without much success. We are now in a digital age and we need to treat images the same way we would key documents. So we helped our client to collate and build a fresh digital library of images and video, which could feature in any future marketing campaigns.
Your images and video content are digital assets. You spent money acquiring them initially, so they still have value today. Our tip is to be oragnised about the way in which you collect and store your digital media and to ask yourself who in your organisation is responsible for managing the digital assets? If you’re not sure then it’s time to act.
"Ant will encourage you to express yourself but without forcing you out of your comfort zone - you’re so relaxed while filming that you forget you are actually being filmed. I trust him implicitly as a director."
